"How the Events of September
11, 2001 Affected My Life"
On September 11, 2001 a tragedy took place on the World
Trade Center and the Pentagon that still to this day has been hard to
believe. The incident affected my life in many ways and makes me appreciate
the value of living in the United States of America. I also think often of
the many ways everyone showed courage and sacrifices during this horrible
time. There are many things I will always remember, especially the way
America stood up against the cowards of terrorism.
I think 9/11/2001 changed my life on how I value and
respect our President of the United States. He was so heroic in the way he
held the people of America together and kept God in all his decisions. He
will always be a president that I will remember as very heroic and a strong
leader. During this time of tragedy President Bush often said "America is
strong." He was firm in defending the freedom and all that is good and just
in our world.
Another way the events of September 11, 2001 affected
my life is the way I respect our firefighters, police officers, and everyone
else in the emergency response area. They showed bravery in sacrificing
their life while saving others. Also, I remember the way they worked many
hours and never wanting to leave because of the possibility of someone else
being rescued alive. I think of the way America
thanked the rescue workers with donations, food, letters, and especially
prayers. Everyone including myself looked at them as heroes during that time
and today they're still respected as courageous heroes of America.
The events of September 11, 2001 changed my life by
making me realize the power of the American people. Everyone came together
from the Northern, Southern, Eastern, and Western parts of the United States
to give blood, money, food, comfort, security, and prayers for those in
need. I believe we as a nation are more willing to help and comfort others
during times of trouble. I also remember how everyone flew the American flag
and wore red, white, and blue to show patriotism in America. I will always
remember the awesome feeling of being proud to be an American during the
events of September 11, 2001 and today I continue to have the same feeling
of pride in America.
During the events of September 11, 2001 I witnessed
many people in America lose loved ones and many gave testimonies of theft
last conversation with that person while they were trying to escape the
towers. It made me realize even more that you never know what could happen
to you each day but God will always be near. I will always remember the
story of Lisa Beamer whose husband, Todd Beamer, helped fought the
terrorists
before the plane crashed into a field in Pennsylvania.
He said "Let's roll!" and today, we as Americans are always ready and
willing to "let's roll" in defending our great country. |
