PATRIOTISM:
Our nation was founded on "self-evident" truths by those patriots who rebelled against the king for specific suppressive actions against colonial governments. Those are considered patriots who, through the years, rebelled against the exclusivity of government in applying the basic principle upon which the nation was founded. Today, perhaps, the patriot is one who, appreciating both good and bad in our past and looking forward to the preponderance of good in our future, is ready to stake his/her life, fortune and sacred honor on the common good. no matter what personal or political advantage is in the offing.
