1972-73.
The major programs of the assembly were continued under Faithful
Navigator CALVIN C. PREJEAN. A religious sister was invited to
address each meeting of the assembly on some aspect of religious
vocations, and the assembly's Color Corps mounted a Guard of Honor at the
monthly Mass for Vocations sponsored by the Serra Club of Lake
Charles.
The State Third Degree Convention was
held in Lake Charles, and the Color Corps mounted a Guard of Honor of 40
members who escorted the clergy and other dignitaries into the church for
the Convention Mass.
The assembly gained 25 new members during the year,
three at an Exemplification held in Baton Rouge, and 23 at an
Exemplification in Opelousas. During this term, Past Faithful Navigator
Truman Stacey was appointed Master for the district. His installation was
sponsored by the assembly. The State Chaplain, Bishop Charles Graco,
celebrated the installation Mass in Our Lady Queen
of Heaven Church and 40 assembly members stood a Guard of Honor. Governor Edwin
Edwards was a guest speaker at
the installation banquet. About 160 attended the banquet.
